The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now invited applications to fill the vacancy of a selector in the selection committee. In such a situation, now BCCI has only 60 days to fill this post. The ODI World Cup to be held in India at the end of this year can start from October 5. In such a situation, all the teams participating in this will have to give their team to the ICC by 29 August.

Right now there are only 4 people in the BCCI selection committee. All of them have experience of playing only 55 matches in international cricket. For this reason, there is doubt in everyone’s mind whether this selection committee will be able to choose a better team for the World Cup. The team will have to submit it to the ICC 5 weeks before the start of the tournament. After this, changes can be made only as a replacement for the injured players.

The ICC statement, according to Inside Sport, said that team submissions for our tournaments have to be done 30 days before the start of the main event, that too before the support period. Our support period starts 1 week before the start of the tournament. You can make changes to the team before the start of the Support Period, without any permission, but once the Support Period starts, you have to take the permission of the Event Technical Committee to make changes to the team.
After the T20 World Cup 2022, the selection committee of the Indian team was also changed by the BCCI. In this, only Chetan Sharma was able to save his place. But he too resigned from his post this year after being implicated in an alleged sting operation. Now only 4 selectors are selecting the team.
In this, Shiv Sundar Das is acting as the chief selector in the interim. In such a situation, BCCI does not want to take any risk regarding ODI World. For this reason, he has sought applications to fill the vacant 1 place in the selection committee. The last date for its submission has been kept on June 30.
