Farmers march to Delhi today, will take out tractor march and surround Parliament, Section 144 imposed in Noida-Greno
In view of the massive protests by farmers in Noida and Greater Noida, the Gautam Buddha Nagar police administration has imposed Section 144 in the district on February 7 and 8. Police has also issued a traffic advisory, in which commuters have been warned against diversion on some routes in Noida and Greater Noida due to the farmers’ tractor march. Let us tell you that farmers organizations are protesting from December 2023 demanding increased compensation and land plots in exchange for their lands acquired by Noida and Greater Noida Development Authority.
To increase pressure on the state government and local administration regarding their demands, farmer groups have called ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ on 7th February and have announced to take out a protest march till Parliament in the capital Delhi on 8th. Additional DCP (Law and Order) Hridesh Katheria said, “Farmers are proposed to organize a mahapanchayat on February 7 and march to Parliament in Delhi on February 8. Some other demonstration programs are also proposed by various organizations during this period. In view of this, the possibility of disturbing peace by anti-social elements cannot be ruled out.”
