A shocking incident has come to light in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh. There, the son of a BJP MLA and his four classmates allegedly confined two minor sisters in a room and sexually assaulted them. After this incident came to the fore, the main opposition Congress of the state has made a scathing attack on the BJP government.
According to the police, one sister was gang-raped while the other was molested. One of the victims even attempted suicide, though her family members saved her in time. The incident sparked outrage in the local community and protests ensued. Datia district SP Pradeep Sharma said that an FIR has been registered on the basis of the statement of the younger sister, who is 17 years old. The incident took place on Friday in Unnao area of Datia district.
The three accused, who are below the age of 18 years, have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC for gang-rape, wrongful confinement, molestation and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). Sharma said, Three of the four accused have already been taken into custody for questioning. We are waiting for the condition of the alleged gangrape victim to improve before recording her statement.”

Sources told IANS that one of the three boys taken into custody is allegedly the son of a BJP MLA. Significantly, Datia is the home district of Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra. After this incident, the state Congress unit launched a scathing attack against him.
Congress media cell member Piyush Bable tweeted, “The names of BJP leaders are being linked to the most heinous crimes in Madhya Pradesh. The shocking thing is that this heinous crime took place in the home district of the state Home Minister, who has fully investigated the matter.” Kind of kept quiet.”
