Taking a big action, the Government of India has blocked a total of 55 lakh phone numbers. This decision of the government has been taken in view of cyber fraud. These SIMs were taken in exchange for fake documents.
Cyber fraud cases are increasing in India, new cases of cyber scams are being read every day. Most of these people lose lakhs of rupees, while in some cases the victims have lost more than Rs 1 crore.
While giving information in the Parliament, Communications Minister Devusingh Chauhan said that investigation has found that the number taken with the help of fake ID card has been switched off. This number is around 55 lakh mobile numbers. Besides, 1.32 lakh mobile phones involved in cyber fraud have also been blocked. This is a big action.
