Maldives’ newly elected President Mohammed Muizzu has started showing his attitude as soon as he took oath, he has asked India to withdraw its military presence. Muizzu’s office announced on Saturday that the government has officially asked India to withdraw its military presence from the country.
The announcement said President Muizzu formally made the request when he met Union Minister Kiren Rijiju at the President’s Office during the day. Rijiju, a minister in the Government of India, had come to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Maldives.
