It was since 2014, the war between Ukraine and Russia has been raging on and off. It has all begun after the election of new president, Petro Poroshenko in Ukraine. The new president, Poroshenko was not welcomed by Russia, so in response to it, Russian troops invaded Ukraine and took control of Crimea.
The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia from all the directions began in 2022 which has caused the massive destruction in Ukraine. The war caused deaths of thousands of people in Ukraine. According to media reports from Ukraine, Ukrainians are bravely fighting back against the attack of Russia.
In the massive destruction and killings of human beings, we have perhaps forgotten our living counterparts; the animals. In recent media reports, an estimated ten million animals are killed in Ukraine, since the war. It is nothing but deliberate cruelty against the innocent animals who have become victims of war between humans.
It says, “animals have been burnt alive, entrances to shelter were blocked, hundreds of dogs were died due to starvation”. The ostrich safaris are organized for the sake of fun where these innocent birds are shot dead. Besides, zoos are fired upon. Exotic and rare animals are killed.
Amidst all the harshness and destruction, there are some Ukrainians who came forward and putting efforts to rescue these animals. The effort of saving the animals from the cruelty of the war are showing some positive results. From feeding to protecting, these Ukranian are trying their best to safeguard these innocent species.
