On Thursday (June 8), the next day after the deadlock between the government and the wrestlers ended, there was a new twist in this case. Talking to the news agency PTI, the father of the minor wrestler said that he had lodged a false complaint of sexual harassment against the outgoing president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
The minor girl’s father said that in a spirit of revenge, he filed a false complaint against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Singh, now wants to rectify the mistake. They want the truth to come out now and not in the court.
The minor’s father told PTI that the government has promised a fair probe into his daughter’s defeat in the trial held last year, which is why she has decided to speak the truth.
What is the allegation against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh?
Singh is accused of sexually assaulting seven women wrestlers, including a minor. Regarding this, the Delhi Police has registered two FIRs against Singh including the POCSO Act. The wrestlers are demanding his arrest in the case.
