“Shinde faction is the real Shiv Sena”, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker pronounced the verdict.
Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly today pronounced the verdict in the disqualification case against Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his faction’s MLAs, about one and a half years ago on June 20, 2022, Eknath Shinde and 39 MLAs of his faction had rebelled against Shiv Sena and formed an alliance with BJP. By doing this the government was formed. Shinde was made the CM. Devendra Fadnavis became Deputy CM. The Uddhav party first gave notice to the Speaker under the anti-defection law. Then the matter reached the Supreme Court and both the groups filed petitions demanding disqualification of each other’s MLAs.
