In response to a contempt petition, the Central Government informed the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court that notices have been issued to Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgan in the matter of advertising of Gutkha companies.
During the hearing of the petition filed in the Lucknow bench of the High Court, the Deputy Solicitor General of the Government of India, during the hearing in the bench of Justice Rajesh Chauhan in the Lucknow bench, argued that Akshay Kumar is guilty of promoting Gutkha companies on behalf of the Central Consumer Protection Authority. Notices have been issued to Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgan in the month of October.
