Two people have died so far in Kerala blast, this person took responsibility for the blast

On Sunday (October 29), several explosions occurred one after the other at a prayer meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kalamassery in Ernakulam district of Kerala. Two people including a woman died and many others were injured in the blasts. The serial blasts took place when about 2,000 people gathered for prayers this morning.

A person named Dominic Martin took responsibility for the incident and surrendered at Kokadara police station. Kerala Police said that Martin has also provided them with some evidence, which is currently being investigated. Let us tell you in 10 points what has happened so far.

1- An explosion occurred at around 9 am in a convention center located in Kalamassery in Ernakulam, Kerala. After a few minutes there was a blast. After some time, a third blast also took place.

2- After receiving information about the incident, Kerala Police became active. NSG’s NBDS team and NIA team left for Kerala and reached here in the evening. Apart from this, teams of anti-terrorism officials and National Security Guard (NSG) also reached Jehovah Witness Church in Kalamassery, Kochi.

3- Initial investigation has revealed that an incendiary device was used for the blast. This device is similar to ID, which causes a small explosion and fire.

4- After the blast in the convention center, Delhi Police came on high alert and increased security in crowded places. Apart from this, Uttar Pradesh SDG Law and Order Prashant Kumar has ordered all the districts to remain alert.

5- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called an all-party meeting on Monday (30 October) regarding the blasts at the convention centre. Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Chief Minister of Kerala regarding the incident and took stock of the situation.

6- A person named Dominic Martin surrendered at Kodakara Police Station in Thrissur district of Kerala and claimed that he was the one who had planted the bomb in the convention centre.

7- Preliminary investigation of Kerala blast has revealed that it was a low intensity explosion, no shrapnel was used in it. The investigation team has not found any shrapnel during this period. Officials said the explosive device used by Senior was a timer-based device.

8- A woman also died in the Kalamassery Convention Center blast. This woman had suffered 90 percent burns in the blast. So far two people have died in the accident. Meanwhile, Kerala Health Minister Veena George reached a hospital to meet the victims of the Kochi blast.

9- Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi called this blast extremely unfortunate and condemnable. He said that there can be no place for violence and bloodshed in a civilized society. The entire country is united against such cowardly acts. He appealed to the government to take strictest action against such elements.

10- After the accident, BJP national president JP Nadda reached Kochi. Earlier, Kerala BJP President had raised questions on Kerala Police regarding the blasts.
