Karnatak/ Bengaluru:

There is an uproar in the entire state due to the Neha Hiremat murder case that took place in Vidyanagar in Hubli district of Karnataka. People are calling it an issue of love jihad and are demanding the culprit be punished as soon as possible. Neha’s family members have said that what happened to their daughter should not happen to anyone else. If necessary, the government should make a law for this and interrogate the accused Faiyaz and try to understand the reasons for this. On the other hand, the mother of the accused has clearly denied love jihad. He says that Neha and Faiyaz loved each other.

Statement of Faiyaz’s mother in Neha murder case

Faiyaz’s mother Mumtaz said, “On behalf of my son, I apologize to all the people of Karnataka. I also apologize to the girl’s parents. She was like my daughter. I am equally saddened like his family. What my son did is wrong. He should be punished for this. He has made us bow our heads in shame. He had left the house five days ago (April 13) saying that he was fed up of sitting at home. Going to look for a job. I came to know about the murder when an acquaintance called and asked me to turn on the television.

According to police sources, accused Faiyaz is originally a resident of Savadatti in Belagavi district of Karnataka. His father is a teacher in a government school. Six months ago he had failed in his examination. After this he stopped going to college. But now when Neha recovered fromU her illness and reached college after two months, Faiyaz also followed her to college and attacked her. The investigation so far has revealed that Faiyaz was so enraged by Neha’s love proposal that he attacked Neha and took her life. Obviously he had been preparing for a long time.

BJP and Congress government face to face in Karnataka on love jihad

The BJP attacked the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government, accusing it of pursuing appeasement politics at the cost of law and order.

The Union minister said, “It is an unfortunate incident and I believe there is an angle of ‘love jihad’ in it. When the girl rejected (the boy’s) proposal, she was murdered.” Under, there is law and order.” Pralhad Joshi said.

The Karnataka government strongly rejected those allegations. State Home Minister G Parameshwara claimed that Neha and Faiyaz were in a relationship before their relationship turned sour.

“Maybe he stabbed her because she had to marry someone else, but I don’t know the details yet. But since it was a mutual relationship, it does not appear to be a case of love jihad,” Parameshwara said.

On the Hubballi murder incident, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah says, “This is not a case of love jihad. I condemn the incident. We have arrested the culprit, the investigation is going on seriously and we will punish the culprit. We have taken care of law and order seriously to maintain peace and harmony. BJP is using this issue for politics, it is condemnable that a political party (BJP) is using the murder of a girl for political purposes.”
