The Supreme Court has also approved the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The court has also accepted that the President’s decision was constitutionally valid. Article 370 was temporary. All provisions of the Constitution will be applicable in Jammu and Kashmir. The court also said that the President has full right to take decisions on Article 370. They have constitutional powers. A constitution bench of five judges gave this decision.

Let us tell you that on August 5, 2019, the Central Government had decided to abrogate the provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution. After this decision of the Centre, the status of special state was snatched from Jammu and it came under the control of the Centre. With this, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were divided into two union territories. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court against this decision. At present, it has become clear today that the Centre’s decision was constitutionally valid. The Central Government says that when the right time comes, Jammu and Kashmir will be given the status of a full state.
