CBI raids Satyapal Malik’s home and office, raids at 30 places in J&K too… Action in Kiru Hydro Electric Project case
CBI searched the residence and office of former Governor Satyapal Malik in Delhi on Thursday morning in the corruption case related to Kiru Hydro Electric Project of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this, the central agency also raided 30 locations in Jammu and Kashmir. This case pertains to alleged corruption in awarding a civil work contract worth Rs 2200 crore in 2019 for the proposed Kiru Hydro Power Project on the Chenab River in Kishtwar.
Let us tell you that Satyapal Malik had alleged that when he was the Governor of the state (Jammu and Kashmir had not become a Union Territory at that time), he was offered a bribe of Rs 300 crore to approve two files related to the project. Let us tell you that he was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir from August 23, 2018 to October 30, 2019. Last month too, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had raided about 8 places in Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the ongoing investigation in this case.
