For the first time, ED took the names of Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi in the court room on Monday (April 1, 2024) in the money laundering case related to Delhi Liquor Policy. When ED was mentioning about Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi in Rouse Avenue Court, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal remained silent during this period.
Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju, appearing in the court on behalf of ED, argued that Vijay Nair has been close to CM Kejriwal. Kejriwal said during interrogation that Nair did not report to him, he used to report to Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj.
How did Saurabh Bhardwaj react?
When ED was mentioning Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj, Bhardwaj was present in the court room. Saurabh Bhardwaj was shocked to hear his name. Bhardwaj looked towards Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, standing with him. During this, Sunita Kejriwal also looked towards Saurabh Bhardwaj.
Kejriwal was produced in the court of Special Judge Kaveri Baweja after the completion of his ED custody period. During this, ED demanded judicial custody of Kejriwal for 15 days and said that he was not cooperating in the investigation. On the plea of ED, the court has sent Kejriwal to judicial custody till April 15. The Central Investigation Agency has made many important revelations in the judicial custody copy.
What did ED reveal?
, ED has written in the copy of the demand for judicial custody that Arvind Kejriwal confessed during interrogation that Vijay Nair used to report to Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj.
, Vijay Nair himself has said that he was making excise policy while staying in the residence of a cabinet minister. He used to work from CM Camp office. On this, Kejriwal is giving a vague answer saying that he does not have direct information about who works in the camp office.
, Vijay Nair was not an ordinary worker of the AAP party but the head of the entire media communication cell. Many WhatsApp chats of Nair were shown to Kejriwal. This shows that Vijay Nair has been close to CM Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal was shown the details of about 10 meetings of Vijay Nair with other accused like Abhishek Boinpillai, Dinesh Arora and other liquor businessmen. It was asked that on whose instructions or instructions Vijay Nair was holding a meeting with these liquor traders and accused regarding the implementation of the new liquor policy, but Arvind Kejriwal said that he was not aware of this either.
