In Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division, Naxalites have announced to celebrate martyrdom week from 28 July to 3 August. During this, bandh has been called in entire Bastar. In order to make their bandh successful, Naxalites have put up their banner at Bhansi railway station in Dantewada district in broad daylight, creating an atmosphere of panic. It is being told that the Naxalites arrived in plain clothes on Saturday evening and put up banners at various places in Bhansi railway station, although during this time no railway security personnel were present in the station. That’s why Naxalites easily put up banner posters.

Here, the Dantewada police has become completely alert due to this act of Naxalites. Along with this, instructions have been given to the station in-charge to increase the security in the area. At the same time, taking precaution, the railway administration has also decided to stop the operation of all passenger trains from Jagdalpur to Dantewada from 28 July to 3 August. From July 28 to next August 3, the Kirandul passenger train will not run from Dantewada. However, goods trains will continue to operate during this period.
Passenger train will not run for a week
In fact, Naxalites celebrate martyrdom week from 28 July to 3 August every year in the memory of the Naxalites killed in various police Naxalite encounters. During their martyrdom week, Naxalites call for Bastar bandh and during the bandh, from affecting the construction works going on in the interior areas, passenger buses and K.K. They also carry out major incidents in the railways. This year too, Naxalites have increased their activism in different districts of the division even before the beginning of Martyr’s Week to make their bandh a success.
Security beefed up around the station
Here Bastar IG Sundarraj P says that in view of the Naxalites’ martyrdom week, strict security arrangements are already being made in the division. At the same time, the security around the station has also been increased, on the other hand, the railway administration has also decided to run all passenger trains from Visakhapatnam to Dantewada station from July 28 to August 3. Now from July 28 to August 3, passenger train will not run from Dantewada to Kirandul.
