The country’s future military officers are ready to guard the borders. The Indian Army has got a batch of 331 young military officers after the passing out parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun today. Apart from this, 42 cadets from seven friendly countries have also become part of the army of their respective countries after taking rigorous training from IMA. Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey took the salute of the parade as the inspecting officer.


Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey while addressing the cadets asked them to keep updating their skills to meet the challenges posed by the rapidly changing nature of warfare. The dynamics of warfare are rapidly changing due to the rapid development of technology and fighting a war has become more complex. In such a scenario, technical skills, mental agility, critical thinking and quick response will be the key to success.

He asked the new officers to continuously improve their qualifications. Your journey doesn’t end with joining the military. On the contrary, it is the beginning of a commitment to self-improvement. General Pandey said that soldier’s profession is the best of all professions, as it gives an opportunity to wear the uniform and serve the motherland with selfless devotion.

Earlier, a morning parade took place at the Drill Square in front of the historic Chetwood building of the Indian Military Academy. Along with the advance call at 6.47 pm, the future captains of the country reached for the parade marching with immense courage and enthusiasm. Parade Commander Meher Banerjee took place at the Drill Square.
The cadets mesmerized everyone in the audience with a spectacular march past. Here, young army officers were taking the last step, while helicopters were showering flowers on them from the sky. After the Peeping and Oath Ceremony to be held after the parade, 373 Gentleman Cadets of the passing out batch joined the Indian and foreign armies as officers. Of these, 331 young military officers got the Indian Army.

19 cadets from Bhutan, 17 from Tajikistan, two from Sri Lanka and one each from Maldives, Sudan, Seychelles and Vietnam also passed out. In total, on Saturday, the name of the Military Academy was added to the pride of giving 64 thousand 862 young military officers to the army of the country and abroad, including 2885 military officers to friendly countries. In view of the passing out parade, security arrangements were made around the academy.
