Most corruption complaints against Home Ministry, Railways and Bank officials

Last year, maximum complaints of corruption have come against the officials of the Union Home Ministry. According to the recently released annual report of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), complaints have been received against railway and bank officials after this.

According to the report, last year a total of 1,15,203 such complaints were received for all categories of officers and employees in all departments and organizations of the central government. Of these, 85,437 complaints have been disposed of while the remaining 29,766 complaints are pending. Of these, 22,034 complaints remained pending for more than three months.

An official said the CVC has set a three-month time limit for chief vigilance officers, who act as remote arms of the body, to investigate complaints. According to the report, while the Home Ministry received 46,643 complaints against its officials, the Railways received 10,580 complaints and the banks received 8,129 complaints.

Of the total complaints against Home Ministry personnel, 23,919 were disposed of and 22,724 were pending, of which 19,198 were pending for more than three months, the report said.

As per the report, Railways has disposed of 9,663 complaints, while 917 complaints are pending, of which 9 complaints were pending for more than three months. Banks disposed of 7,762 corruption complaints, 367 were pending, of which 78 were pending for more than three months.

As many as 7,370 complaints were filed against personnel in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, out of which 6,804 complaints were settled and 566 complaints were pending of which 18 complaints were pending for more than three months.

According to the report, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (including Central Public Works Department), Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Delhi Urban Art Commission, Hindustan Prefab Limited, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited, NBCC And 4,710 complaints were filed against the personnel of the NCR Planning Board.
