Violence again in Manipur’s Imphal, Union minister RK Ranjan Singh’s house torched

On Thursday (June 15) night in Manipur’s Imphal, a mob set fire to the house of Union Minister R.K Ranjan Singh. According to officials, the Union minister was not at home at the time of the incident. Not only this, the miscreants also burnt two houses in New Checkon. After which the security forces released tear gas shells. Earlier on June 14, unidentified people had also set fire to the official residence of Women Minister Nemcha Kipjen in Lamphel area of Imphal.

Violence continues unabated in Manipur. According to the news agency ANI, 9 people were killed and 10 people were injured in the sudden firing by the militants on Tuesday (June 13). During this mischievous elements also set fire to many houses of Khamenlok village. Several people were also reported injured in Gobajang in Tamenglong district.

How is the situation in the state at this time : 

The situation in Manipur is very tense at this time. Curfew is in force in 11 out of 16 districts in the state, while internet services are also closed. Not only this, people are also facing struggle for basic needs. In Manipur, for more than a month, continuous efforts are being made for peace in violence-hit Manipur, but all the efforts seem to be failing. According to PTI, more than 100 people lost their lives and 310 others were injured in violence between Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur a month ago. Army and paramilitary personnel have been deployed to restore peace in the state.
