Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu took a meeting with the District Magistrates of all the districts of the state in connection with the implementation of 30 points through video conferencing at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

In the past, a list was sent by the Chief Secretary to all the District Magistrates to work on priority basis on 30 points, to whom suggestions were sought to work on priority or on the coming problems and their solutions. He said that work on these would be started soon. The Chief Secretary said that the monitoring of these 30 points will be portal based. Good performing districts will also be rewarded. He said that there is a need to focus on simplification of various functions.

The Chief Secretary said that these 30 points are the priority of the state. A portal will be prepared for them in the next one week. Portal based monitoring of these works will be done. He said that the districts will have to set targets for themselves. Districts will set their targets according to their needs. A calendar will also be prepared to complete these works. He said that other works based on the priority of the District Magistrates can also be added to it.

The Chief Secretary said that many works are already going on, some are to start soon. He said that waste management and disposal from homes in a scientific way, digital record of government properties, disposal of Pirul can play an important role in protecting forests from fire and providing employment to the local people. He also directed the District Magistrate Haridwar to prepare a special action plan for cleanliness in the district. He said that maximum number of tourists and devotees visit Haridwar in the state. Municipal Corporation and Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority together need to prepare a special action plan for solid waste management so that there is proper arrangement for cleanliness. He said that budget provision will be made for this.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan, Shri R. District Magistrates from all the districts including Meenakshi Sundaram and Shri Arvind Singh Hyanki were present.
