India’s Sun Mission Aditya-L One (Aditya-L1), related to the first space-based Indian Observatory to study the Sun, will be launched on 2 September. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) gave this information on Monday (August 28).

ISRO told that the mission will be launched from Sriharikota at 11:50 am Indian time. ISRO has also invited the public to watch the launch of this mission.

Its launch can be seen from the launch view gallery located in Sriharikota. For this, people will have to register through the website. ISRO has provided a link to the website on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), and also said that the registration will be announced soon.

What is the purpose of Aditya-L1?

This spacecraft is designed for observation of the outer layers of the Sun (Corona) and for in situ observation of the solar wind at the Sun-Earth Lagrange point (L1). L1 is at a distance of about 1.5 million kilometers from the Earth. This will be the first Indian space mission to observe the Sun. The goal of the Aditya-L1 mission is to study the Sun from orbit around L1.

Aditya L-1 will carry seven payloads, which will be able to observe the photosphere (photosphere), chromosphere (just above the visible surface of the Sun) and the outermost layer (corona) of the Sun in different wave bands. Will help. According to the news agency PTI, an ISRO official said that Aditya-L1 is a completely indigenous effort, with the participation of national institutions.

There will be benefit of seeing the sun continuously without eclipse

According to ISRO, there is a plan to place the spacecraft near the L1 halo orbit of the Sun-Earth Lagrange point. A satellite placed in a halo orbit around the L1 point can provide a great advantage of observing the Sun continuously without any eclipse. With this, solar activities and its effect on space weather can be detected in real time.
